We are pleased to offer this 1964 MGB for sale. This is a very desirable early pull-handle car with a production date of July 1963, and retains the original matching numbers 3 main bearing engine and transmission per the included Heritage Certificate. The car has just three owners from new, with the original lady owner having possession for over 35 years. Having been a West Coast car since new, it has all original sheet metal with no rust or evidence of accident damage, and all original spot welds throughout. The car also has the rare and desirable alloy bonnet fitted. This is one of the best early MGB Roadsters we have seen in many years. To find a car with all original sheet metal that has never been altered is very rare. The car starts right up, and runs and drives beautifully, and the transmission shifts smoothly. The SU carburetors are brand new HS6 items for added performance, and designed to run unleaded fuel. The complete exhaust system, including the manifold, has been updated with a works replica system for better performance and compliments the larger carburetors nicely. The MGB had lots of work performed in 2019 and invoices can be sent to any interested buyers. The front suspension has been updated with a tube type shock conversion kit by Frontline Developments that greatly improves the cars handling. As you can see, the car has been made to look like a works rally car, and if desired, it could be put back to stock appearance easily. The car comes fitted with a very rare factory hardtop and a new convertible top, which is still it the box. The interior of the car is highly original and still has the factory rubber sill cover and floor mats. These are extremely rare to see on an MGB, and correct original style rubber mats are no longer in production. In all my years working on and judging these at car shows, I have only seen a handful of cars with their original rubber mats. While this may not be concourse car, it is a very high level driver, in incredible original corrosion-free condition. It is ready to be driven and enjoyed while still being show-worthy. The car has fantastic history and lots of recent work, and it would be very difficult to find another early MGB in similar condition. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. This early production MGB is located in our showroom for viewing and inspection.
